ABS Thick Panel

Of all our panels we offer, ABS is our favorite pick for artists.  These are a hidden gem in the art industry, loved by both professionals and enthusiasts alike.  Our ABS panels are crafted with the utmost care and precision, ensuring that they stand the test of time. These sturdy, warp-resistant panels are not only designed to withstand the rigors of the creative process but also protect your artwork for years to come.  We find this material superior to other materials not only for its archival quality and durability, but also because they come ready to paint (no gesso needed), are lightweight, and resistant to moisture and cracking.

This 3/16" thickness has the most rigid surface of our ABS panels and are ideal for larger pieces without adding the extra weight of cradling it.

Our recommendations for ABS panels:

1/16" - ideal for studies

1/8" - most versatile size for both studies and professional paintings

3/16" - an ideal rigid surface for larger pieces

Framing Recommendation:

Frames with a traditional mount: ABS panels of any size fits securely with any traditionally mounted frame.  This style of frame displays the artwork by it being placed directly behind the wood, covering 1/4" of the outside edge of the canvas.

Frames with a floated panel: Our floated frame design accommodates ABS panels up to 18".  If your panel is larger than 18" and you are using a floated frame, we recommend selecting one of our cradled ABS panels.
